Dutch Baby - German Pancake

Image
The Dutch Baby - I'd seen it around some of my favorite food youtube channels and have always wanted to make one! I finally tried it out, and it did not disappoint.  Preheat your oven with a large cast iron skillet inside to 450°F Batter Ingredients : 4 eggs 1 cup flour 1 cup milk 2 tbsp melted butter 1/2 tsp salt Mix batter in a blender, or using a hand mixer, until smooth -- batter will be pretty thin! After your oven and skillet are preheated, throw an additional 2 tablespoons of butter into the skillet and melt for 1-2 minutes in the hot oven. Once the butter is melted, pour the batter into the skillet and return to the oven for 18 minutes until the pancake is risen sky high and golden brown. Top with powdered sugar, berries, other fruit, honey or maple syrup, or really anything your heart and taste buds desire! Custardy, sweet, crispy  and soft, and such a great breakfast! Enjoy!

Prep Time: ~10m Bake Time: 25m Makes about 12 muffins Ingredients 1c sugar 1/2c vegetable shortening (I use butter flavored Crisco. I know, so healthy, right? ) 2c all-purpose flour 2 eggs 3 large (or 5 small) overly ripe bananas, mashed 1tsp baking soda 1tsp baking powder 1/2tsp salt 2/3c mini chocolate chips Directions 1.  Cre...
