Dutch Baby - German Pancake

Image
The Dutch Baby - I'd seen it around some of my favorite food youtube channels and have always wanted to make one! I finally tried it out, and it did not disappoint.  Preheat your oven with a large cast iron skillet inside to 450°F Batter Ingredients : 4 eggs 1 cup flour 1 cup milk 2 tbsp melted butter 1/2 tsp salt Mix batter in a blender, or using a hand mixer, until smooth -- batter will be pretty thin! After your oven and skillet are preheated, throw an additional 2 tablespoons of butter into the skillet and melt for 1-2 minutes in the hot oven. Once the butter is melted, pour the batter into the skillet and return to the oven for 18 minutes until the pancake is risen sky high and golden brown. Top with powdered sugar, berries, other fruit, honey or maple syrup, or really anything your heart and taste buds desire! Custardy, sweet, crispy  and soft, and such a great breakfast! Enjoy!

Preheat oven to 425*F and grease a 9"x9" baking dish 2. Cut chicken breasts into large chunks - my chicken breasts were pretty thick, so I also butterflied the chicken before dicing. I made my pieces into about 3" strips, making about 2-3 pieces per ...

Ginger Soy Salmon

Image
I have some family in Alaska. For Christmas this year, they sent us all kinds of goodies. Meats and fish galore, and I was so excited to cook with the salmon! The fiance and I have recently started eating salmon... a lot. I've been generally opposed to fish for as long as I can remember, but I've started to come around. I started with catfish (fried, duh), moved on to tilapia, and then eventually salmon. My favorite recipe is one that I got from my mom, comes together super quickly after a long day of work, and has a short cook time. Ginger Soy Salmon with zucchini noodles You know what's fun about salmon that doesn't come from a big chain grocery store? Bones.  Millions of tiny, thin bones in the stinky little fish. Okay maybe not millions, but it sure seemed like it. Have you ever de-boned a fish? Because I hadn't, and had to wash my fish germ hands and do some internet searching. The internet concluded that I needed some needle nose pliers, but the fiance...
